To explore the practical charm of chemistry, the Kaituo Chemistry Club (School of Chemical Engineering, Textile and Apparel) co-hosted the activity "Crafting Soap with Ingenuity, Painting Colors with Chemistry" with Huayou Cobalt and CATL International Talents Classes, supported by the School of International Education. Centered on "chemical technology+life aesthetics," the event engaged Chinese and international students in hands-on learning.

The activity included three core parts: theoretical briefing, group practice, and creative shaping. Advisor Liang Bo explained saponification principles and oil-lye ratios in bilingual (Chinese-English) to cater to international students. During hands-on sessions, students collaborated to stir soap liquid to the "trace" stage (a sign of complete saponification), shared cultural traditions, and poured the mixture into various molds. Key tips like bubble-releasing tapping and 4-6 weeks of air-drying were provided for optimal results.

The event deepened students’ understanding of chemical applications, fostered cross-cultural friendships, and was widely praised for its practicality and fun. The Kaituo Chemistry Club will continue organizing such joint activities to highlight chemistry’s beauty in cultural exchanges.
