From September 26-27, 2025, the Education University of Hong Kong hosted the "UNESCO Chair Meeting: Sustainable Development, Technology and Education" in Hong Kong.
Qin Jingjun, Dean of Shaanxi Polytechnic University’s International Education School, was invited to share the university’s efforts in advancing vocational education sustainability during discussions.
Centered on "Sustainable Development, Technology and Education", the meeting gathered global educators, scholars and industry reps to exchange views on digital transformation, vocational education and cross-cultural understanding, exploring how education-tech integration supports sustainable development goals.
Drawing on the university’s vocational education cooperation with Indonesia, Dean Qin highlighted three key areas: industry-education integration for sustainable talent development, technology-driven vocational education reform, and resource sharing via international cooperation. He noted the university’s targeted "professional clusters matching industrial chains" model, aligned with Indonesia’s industrialization and new energy needs.
Collaborations with enterprises like CATL and Huayou Cobalt (e.g., "2.5+0.5" order-based classes) and joint power plant talent programs with Shaanxi Blower Group have so far trained 268 high-quality technical talents for Indonesian enterprises. This has eased labor shortages, fostered skilled workers with sustainability awareness, and supported Indonesia’s industrial upgrading and UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The participation showcased the university’s achievements in vocational education internationalization and sustainability, expanded its global perspective, built higher-level cooperation platforms, and laid a solid foundation for high-quality, sustainable vocational education development.
