The UNESCO-UNEVOC Centre Coordination Meeting of China was held at the Education University of Hong Kong on Sept. 29-30, 2025, with a focus on "AI Empowering Vocational Education", "Green Vocational Education" and "Educational Innovation".
Co-chaired by Prof. John Chi-Kin Lee and Dr. Kevin Yung of the host university’s UNEVOC Centre, the meeting saw attendance from Dr. Mee Young Choi (UNESCO East Asia Office) and Ren Zhanying (Deputy Director of China’s Vocational Education Development Centre), among other guests.
Qin Jingjun, Dean of Shaanxi Polytechnic University’s International Education School and its UNEVOC Centre representative, highlighted the university’s progress in vocational education internationalization – including exporting Chinese vocational education standards, international teacher training, joint talent cultivation and high-level exchange platforms. Several of its practices have been named UNESCO-UNEVOC Excellent Cases, drawing wide recognition.
The meeting agreed on future cooperation: joint projects on "AI Literacy" and "Green Skills", shared teaching resources, and a regular coordination mechanism.
Qin stressed the university will deepen collaboration with global UNEVOC Centres to contribute more "Shaanxi Polytechnic Wisdom" to vocational education’s internationalization and sustainable development.
