Delegation of Red River College, Canada, Visiting for Collaboration

With Mr. Eddy Lau, director of International Education as head, the delegation of Red River College (RRC), Canada, visited SXPI from Oct. 19 to 20, seeking collaboration in areas of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. The delegation includes Mr. Bill Noakes, program chair for power engineering technology,mechanical engineering technology, manufacturing technician and Mr. Joe Carey, program chair for electrical engineering technology, electronic engineering technology,electronic and network technician. Liu Yongliang, vice president of Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute, held a brief meeting with the delegation in reception room.Heads from SXPI International office, Academic office, deans from mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, CNC engineering, materials engineering and information engineering participated in the collaboration meetings with the delegation.

While meeting the Canadian guests, Mr. Liu Yongliang introduced them SXPI’s international strategy and its programs. He said, China’s one belt, one road strategy brings great opportunity for SXPI to well promote its internationalization. Learning and bringing in advanced and quality education resources from the other world is one of the key points for SXPI to advance its education and teaching, also is the main focus for us to develop international programs recent years. The RRC visiting for the purpose of developing collaboration programs just meets our work on internationalization. He hopes the delegation make deep communication with SXPI correspondent departments and schools, find out the mutual interests and lay basis for building cooperation programs.

While meeting Mr. Liu Yongliang, Mr. Eddy Lau thanks for SXPI hospitality. He said,recent years, top leaders of China and Canada made couple of good communications and exchange, the two governments already signed an education MOU, which have created good environment for RRC and SXPI to develop cooperation programs. SXPI quality teaching programs and advanced training facilities made deep impression on him when he visited SXPI in April, 2016.This time, he especially invited Mr. Bill Noakes and Mr. Joe Carey to visit SXPI with him together, hope to seek cooperation programs on dual diploma, courses or other area by way of holding symposium,visiting schools and training facilities.

Duringthe period of visiting, RRC delegation held symposium with the heads of related departments and schools. Respectively, members of the delegation visited training facilities, related schools and the foreign teacher’s English training room. Finally, cooperation intention made on mutual developing teaching programs and training facilities, teachers and students exchange, science and research,dual diploma programs between the two sides.
