Cooperation Promoted by Visiting of Waikato Institute of Technology, New Zealand

Mr. Tony O’Brien, Sino-NZ Project Director, with Ms. Liu Shabai, Assistant of International Affairs, Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec), New Zealand, paid a visit to SXPI on Oct.25.Mr. Liu Yongliang, the Vice President of Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute, held a meeting with the visiting guests from NZ. Personals concerned from International Office, Academic Office attended the meeting and held a discussion with Wintec guests for promoting cooperation programs.

Mr. Liu Yongliang forwarded his warm welcome to the guests and briefed SXPI profile and its international cooperation programs. He said, for well serving China’s One Belt,One Road strategy, and carrying out the 3-year Action Plan of Ministry of Education,China, that SXPI will devote itself to develop international relationship with colleges from the world in the following years. By being committed to improve the quality of the already international programs, SXPI is sincerely looking for oversea partners, hopes to break through some key points in its international works like dual diploma programs. SXPI hopes to develop more widen, more deep cooperation programs with Wintec in the following years as both institutes already had good cooperation on English teachers training in this summer.

Mr. TonyO’Brien appreciated SXPI hospitality for the visiting. He presented Wintec Profile and the governments supported Sino-NZ vocational education research programs which he is mainly responsible for by NZ side, He expressed wishes that Wintec would like to work with SXPI on developing quality programs to promote the jointly development of the two institutes, especially in the great time of One Belt, One Road which was initiated by Mr. Xi Jingping, President of the People’s Republic of China

After the meeting with Mr. Liu Yongliang, Personals concerned from International Office,Academic Office held a negation with Wintec guests on Sino-NZ vocational education research program, teachers training and students exchange. The Wintec guests also paid a visit to the pre-oversea studying English training room, held a talk with Mr. John Smith, who is responsible for the facility and, one of the foreign teachers doing English training for students and teachers before they leave for oversea programs.
