On the afternoon of March 21,Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute (SXPI) held the opening ceremony of Chinese Language and Culture Camp for Young Indonesian Leaders in the form of video conference. Hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and undertaken by SXPI, this camp took "Experiencing Sanqin Culture and Learning Chinese Technique”as the theme. Mr.Tian Hao, Deputy Secretary of SXPI Party Committee, Dr.AB Susanto, President of Semarang Viva college in Indonesia,Ms. Susnila, President of Vocational School in South Sumatra province,Mr. Maheni, Director of the Department of Economics and Business of Dia University attended the ceremony. Nearly 300 teachers and students from some undergraduate colleges and vocational schools in Indonesia also participated in the ceremony. Mr.Qin Jingjun,Dean of SXPI International Education School, presided over the ceremony.
In his speech,Mr.Tian Hao introduced the basic situation and foreign exchange and cooperation of SXPI. He said that relying on the professional characteristics of Vocational Educationin SXPI, this spring camp for Indonesian young leaders integrated Chinese learning, culture and art communication and vocational skills learning to create a high-quality project of Sino foreign cultural exchange of vocational education. The activity built a good platform for young students, teachers and managers of Vocational Colleges of the two countries to enhance understanding and integrate culture. Besides, it established a good exchange mechanism for the two sides in terms of students' language learning, professional skills, craftsmanship and social ability training as well as the teachers' international vision and teaching abilities. He believed that this camp would be a cultural journey with rich connotation and hoped that the campers would cherish the friendship and pass on the sincere enthusiasm and profound friendship between Chinese teachers and students to more Indonesian friends.
In their speeches, Dr.AB Susanto,Ms. Susnila and Mr. Maheni,thanked SXPI for providing the opportunity of this spring camp. They said that Chinese has become an important part of today's international exchanges. The spring camp provided Indonesian students with the opportunity to fully communicate with teachers and students of Chinese vocational colleges, giving them the opportunity to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture.All thecampers were very interested and fully prepared for this learning. They believed that the Indonesian students would benefit a lot from this spring camp and looked forward to carrying out more cooperation projects with SXPI.
In her speech, the representative teacher, Ms. Yang He, hoped that the campers could learn all the courses seriously to broaden their horizons, improve their professional skills and be the messengers of friendly cultural exchanges between China and Indonesia. The Indonesian student representatives Cinthia and Arya expressed their eagerness for the spring camp activities, saying that they were very interested in Chinese language and culture and would actively complete various learning tasks.
Last November, the "Chinese + vocational skills" online project declared by SXPI was approved and funded by the "Chinese Bridge" online group of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation.This spring camp was just the specific implementation of the "Chinese Bridge" online group project. The activity was for excellent students of Indonesian universities and vocational schools, highlighting vocational skills and the regional cultural characteristics of Shaanxi. It aimed to spread Chinese language and culture, share Chinese high-quality educational resources, build an international brand of vocational education, and promote cultural exchanges between Chinese and Indonesian youth.
The spring camp would last for 9 days, with 286 Indonesian students. The course contents included Chinese learning, lectures and experience of Sanqin culture, skill learning, corporate culture experience, etc.Meanwhile, Chinese classes and cultural lectures would take the form of live broadcast classes, focusing on improving students' Chinese level, strengthening students' comprehensive language abilities, and helping students understand China's traditional culture and corporate culture. The skill courses would aim to enhance students' understanding of enterprise production knowledge and professional skillsin the form of recording and broadcasting courses, through which students can learn four "bilingual" courses from the official website of "Chinese Bridge",including Business Etiquette, Production and Site Management, Flexible Manufacturing and Automatic Production Line and Advanced Manufacturing Technology.
