From June 17 to 19,hosted by Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education,the 10th National College Students' Mechanical Innovation Design Competition was successfully held in Xi'an University of Science and Technology . A total of 484 works from 50 universities and technical secondary schools, including Xi'an Jiaotong University and Northwest Poly-technical University, participated in the competition.
The theme of this competition is "Bionic Machinery and Ecological Restoration Machinery". The instructor of the school of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering of SXPI made full use of extra-curricular time to guide 132 students in 38 projects. After more than a year of topic selection, design and production, and through on campus contest,SXPI finally won 5 first prizes, 4 second prizes and 1 third prizein this competition. Meanwhile, the first prize winning rate ranks first among the 51 colleges and universities, and ranks first among the participating Vocational Colleges in the province, setting a new record.
SXPI has always paid attention to the improvement and training of students' technology application ability and innovation ability. Adhering to the training concept of cultivating high-end technical talents, we have established a student innovation ability and practice ability training system with the deep integration of learning, doing and innovation of "association activities + Classroom Teaching". Through this competition, the students' innovative design awareness, comprehensive design ability and engineering practice ability were cultivated.
The National College Students'Mechanical Innovation Design Competition was established with the approval of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of education. The purpose of the competition is to guide colleges and universities to pay attention to cultivating college students' innovative design consciousness, comprehensive design ability and teamwork spirit in teaching,strengthening the training of students' practical ability and engineering practice, and encouraging more young students to actively participate in China's machinery design and machinery manufacturing. It plays an active role in the process of China's transformation from a big manufacturing country to a powerful manufacturing country.
