On November 20, international students from Indonesia, Russia, Myanmar and other countries, organized by the School of International Education, visited Xianyang Museum for the practical session of the "Tour of Chinese Culture and Overview" course. Following historical traces, they experienced the thousand-year civilization of ancient Xianyang and the charm of traditional Chinese culture through relic observation, bilingual explanations and interactive activities.Guided bilingually by museum interpreters and university teachers, the students explored core halls like the "Qin Xianyang Civilization Exhibition" and "Western Han Painted Terracotta Army Exhibition". They marveled at the exquisite Qin pottery drainage pipes, admired the grandeur of the unified Qin Dynasty reflected in unified weights, currency, writing and axle lengths, and praised the superb craftsmanship of Western Han terracotta figurines. They also simulated battlefield combat in the interactive area to feel history vividly. The university has long adhered to the "Chinese language + professional skills + culture" training system for international students since 2018, when the course was launched to help them understand China, integrate into Shaanxi life and foster cross-cultural communication. As a core site of Qin-Han civilization, Xianyang Museum’s bronzes, terracotta figurines and jade artifacts serve as "living textbooks" for students to grasp Chinese history and culture.Moving forward, the university will deepen the course reform, organize visits to more cultural landmarks, and offer "visible, tangible and understandable" immersive experiences. This aims to enhance students’ understanding and recognition of Chinese culture, promoting in-depth cross-cultural exchanges.
