SXPI Joins China-Africa-UNESCO Education and Heritage Protection Dialogue as Speaker

On September 6, the China-Africa-UNESCO Dialogue on Education and Cultural Heritage Protection Cooperation took place in Beijing. Co-hosted by China and UNESCO with the theme "Jointly Boosting African Education Development and Cultural Heritage Protection", it aimed to enhance experience sharing and cooperation discussions among China, UNESCO, and African nations in relevant fields. Around 460 participants, including officials, educators, experts, and representatives from international bodies, attended.

Ding Xuexiang, a top Chinese official, along with African leaders and an UNESCO official, delivered speeches at the opening. Education Minister Huai Jinpeng gave a keynote address.

Liu Yongliang, President of Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute and the only Chinese vocational college representative, spoke on "Vocational Education and Youth Employment". SXPI, as an UNESCO vocational education liaison center, has engaged with 21 African countries per the 2030 Agenda. It has:

  • Launched "Education Follows Output" overseas education, training over 2,900 youths via the China-Zambia college and Ethiopian workshop, aiding employment and income.

  • Implemented "One Country, One Policy", offering 21 training sessions to 1,327 African educators from 19 countries, sharing Chinese vocational ed expertise and developing local materials.

  • Utilized "Culture as a Bridge" to expand the Belt and Road network, promoting skills and cultural ties through "Chinese Bridge" and the "Future Africa" plan.

Liu expressed the school's readiness to deepen cooperation with Africa for youth development in the new era.
