SXPI Teachers Arrived in Zambia for VET Program

Four SXPI younger technical teachers arrived in Ndola,capital of Zambia, on oct.24, to participate a vocational education program organized by the China Nonferrous Industry Community. During the three months in Zambia,the teachers will carry out some skills training for local employees of China Nonferrous Group while taking English training class in Copperstone University. This program is designed for inviting Chinese vocational college teachers to help training local employee, most are for Chinese Nonferrous industries in Zambia. The collaboration between college and industry going to foreign markets together is encouraged by the Ministry of Education, China, which devotes to promote China vocational education to the world. The VET program in Zambia is a good way to spread Chinese vocational education to Africa.

On Oct. 21, before leaving for Zambia, a farewell meeting was held in Beijing for the teachers by the Nonferrous Industry Community,with officials from Ministry of Education, and China Nonferrous Group attended the farewell and forwarded best wishes to the teachers includes four SXPI teachers and teachers from other vocational educational colleges.

The opening ceremony for the training was held in Copperstone University, Zambia on Oct. 28. Mr. Mundai, the Vice President, Dr. Bwalya, Teaching Supervisor and other persons concerned from Copperstone University and the Zambia-China Economic and Trade Zone attended the ceremony. After the opening ceremony, the VET program was formally kicked off.
