SXPI Visiting Scholars arrive in New Zealand and the UK

Geng Fanla, an SXPI associate professor of Electrical Engineering School, began her three months scholar program in Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec), New Zealand since June 20. During her time in New Zealand, Ms. Geng participates in workshops, visits relevant teaching departments of Wintec, finishes homework given by Wintec lecturers. Also, Ms Geng is taking much time to improve her English in the native English language speaking countries and experience the unique foreign culture, especially the Maori culture .

Ms Geng Fanla is just one of the 23 teaching faculties who are now beginning the three months scholar programs respectively in Waikato Institute of Technology, New Zealand and Bradford College, the UK, both well known colleges are partners of Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute. The teaching staffs take almost familiar schedule as Ms Geng’s and hope to broaden their vision and learn from the counterparts in the UK or New Zealand during their time in foreign countries.

The three months oversea scholars program is open to SXPI teaching faculties since 2000 as SXPI is cooperating with its oversea partners to improve the teachers teaching ability and international ability in the new area of its education reform. According to SXPI 2017 teaching staff development plan, over 60 teaching staffs will visit SXPI partner universities and colleges in the UK, Germany, New Zealand, Canada, Russia and Taiwan region of China for different teachers exchange program.
