The Background,

On October 24, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance, China, jointly announced the list of 197 selected Higher Vocational Colleges and Majors with High Level and Unique Chinese Characteristics (abbr. Double-High Vocational Colleges). The Double-High Vocational Colleges will be heavily funded and supported by the central and provincial governments in next few years to promote China vocational education in way of relevant and high quality development. Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute(SXPI), as the leading college in Shaanxi province, was selected as the A level , the highest level and the only one from Western China, which is a remarkable achievement as there are only 10 colleges in A level. Double-High Vocational Colleges Plan is China’s innovative action to develop world first class TVET colleges and programs. The selected colleges are divided into A, B, C Levels, among which, 56 are Colleges, 141 are programs.

 The purpose,

To well develop SXPI Double-High vocational College, especially its Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering programs, we are now seeking international leading TVET experts to join us as visiting professors. The visiting professors mainly give advice and suggestions for SXPI how to develop Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering to be in line with the newly development of technology and the requirement of industry for human resources. The visiting professors will visit SXPI two or three time in one year attend workshops with SXPI teaching staffs, Chinese TVET experts, representatives from industries, give lectures about the newly development of TVET in the world, train the trainers and lead SXPI in direction of developing its program in way of well adapting to the fast changing industry, the development of ICT and AI technology, the need of sustainability, etc.，to help SXPI offer relevant TVET programs and curriculums to its students and trainees, and to stimulate employment and Entrepreneurship. The visiting professors shall be PhD degree holder with engineering academic background, at least five years TVET working experience.

 The benefits,

The fee for traveling, accommodation and meals to China for workshops, lectures will be covered by SXPI. Certificate of visiting professor will be awarded, and consult fee (negotiable) will be paid.
