In order to implement president Xi Jinping's proposal of establishing a BRICS Vocational Education Alliance and promote bilateral and multilateral practical cooperation in vocational education, the China-Russia Vocational Education Exchange and Cooperation Seminar was held by video conference on December 22, 2021.

This conference was sponsored by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and undertaken by Zhengzhou Railway Vocational & Technical College. Nearly 30 vocational colleges and applied undergraduate colleges from China and Russia attended the conference. Yu Yougen, Deputy Secretary-General of CEAIE, Jiang Zhongliang, Education Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Russia, and other corresponding representatives attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches respectively. Meanwhile, Tian Hao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SXPI, was invited to attend the meeting and delivered a keynote speech.

Mr. Tian's speech systematically introduced SXPI's exploration and practice in international exchange and cooperation in recent years from three aspects: "Strategy-activating new driving force of international innovation and development", "Engineering-creating new samples of collectivized overseas education" and "Plan-exploring new plans of standardized and open education".

Mr. Tian expressed that since SXPI established cooperative relationship with Russia's Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service in 2014, the two sides have carried out fruitful exchanges and cooperation in such aspects as teacher-student exchange, cooperative education and academic exchange, which has also promoted common progress of both sides. In the future, SXPI would continue to expand and deepen the exchanges and cooperation with Russian vocational colleges, tap the potential of cooperation, and expand the existing cooperation projects.

In the summary session, He Pei, Director of the Vocational Education and Training Department of CEAIE, put forward suggestions on the cooperation between China and Russia in vocational education from three aspects. The first was to focus on the layout adjustment of China-Russia cooperation in production capacity, so as to cultivate more high-level technical and skilled personnel for economic development and cooperation between the two sides. The second was to adhere to the principle of co-construction, that is, to share the development achievements and valuable experience of vocational education. The third was to practice multilateralism in education cooperation. The BRCIS Vocational Education Alliance should be actively established to deepen cooperation in vocational education and carry out multilateral practical cooperation.
