Profile

School of Material Engineering is one of the earliest-established faculties in the institute and now in a leading position in materials engineering in China higher vocational and technical institutes and colleges. It has won a good reputation and is well-known in China.Over 18,200 students have graduated from this school over the years, working in all equipment manufacturing fields and becoming technical or management backbones in their work units.

Facilities

The school has 5 training bases in fields of Material Molding Technology, Mould Technology, Welding Technology, Heat Treatment Technology and Detection Technology. The overall training bases cover over 3,500 square meters and is worth over 30 million RMB. The school also boasts a national teacher training base, a national level mechanical industry teachers training base and two provincial level training bases.

Faculty

There are 58 full-time and part-time teachers, among whom 9 are professors, 18 are associate professors and 32 of them are master degree teachers. The school enjoys two provincial level teaching teams. Three teachers were awarded the title of national outstanding teacher, two awarded provincial distinguished teacher and one was awarded the title of provincial vocational education excellent teacher. Now, seven teachers are holding positions of chairmen or members of provincial academic associations. Over the years, the school has chaired 26 research programs of provincial level or the institute level, published around 200 academic papers, won 4 provincial teaching awards and got 13 national new utility model patents.

Strengths and Performance

In recent years, the school has worked out one national level fine resources sharing curriculum and one National Level Fine Curriculum, 4 provincial level excellent curriculum and 10 school level high-quality curriculum. Out of the 10 textbooks compiled and published by the school, 5 are listed as National Teaching Materials of the "Twelfth Five-year" Plan.

Up to date, the school enrolls over 1,500 students. For many years, 98% of its graduates can find high salary jobs easily, and a large proportion of them work in divisions of production and quality management.
