Among them, Application of Chemical Technology is the key construction program with central government financial support, Fashion Design is the provincial level key program.
Faculty
School of Chemical Engineering and Clothing is one of the oldest and special schools in SXPI. It has 60 full-time and part-time teachers, among which 11 are professors, 25 are associate professors and 33 are MS-and-PhD degree holders. Yao Mu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, is a visiting professor to the school.
Facilities
The school has 47 comprehensive training bases for teaching, scientific research, skill appraisal and technology service-a Four-in-One Integration Base of modern chemical industry and textile experiment. The training bases cover over 6,000 square meters with 19 million RMB investments for chemical industry and textile teaching. Application of Chemical Technology and Apparel Production Training Center is the key projects with national financial support; Costume Design Studio is another of the Eight Shaanxi Province People's Livelihood Projects. These training centers could not only meet the demand for teaching, but also provide the support for enterprise products’ R and D, technical evaluation and staff training, etc.
Strengths and Performance
In recent years, students from this school have won many prizes in national skills competition among higher vocational colleges-8 first prizes, 18 second prizes and 44third prizes; 20 students won national senior professional qualification certificates. In 2015, one of the student’s work Lvshuiqu got the opportunity to take part in the Pygmalion International Fashion Competition and won a prize, and in 2016, one of the teacher has participated in the Fashion View of Pacific Fashion Week. With the improvement in teaching and national reputation, the student employment rate could stay around 98% for many years, and students will enjoy a good salary.
