2023 Future of Africa - China TVET Tour Was Launched in SXPI

On November 7, hosted by the China Education Association for International Exchange(CEAIE) and undertook by Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute(SXPI), the welcome ceremony of“2023 Future of Africa - China TVETTour”for the education officials of the African Embassy was held at Jingkai campus, SXPI. Diplomats from Ghana, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Senegal, Burkina Faso and Kenya had gathered to gether to enhance understanding of Chinese vocational education and explore China-Africa cooperation in vocational education through a five-day programme of vocational education visits to institutions and enterprises, seminars and cultural experiences.Yu Yunfeng, secretary-general of CEAIE, Shen Xuefeng, deputy director-general ofEducation Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government,Wen Tong, director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government, and Hui Zhaoyang, Secretary of SXPI Party Committee, attended the event. The welcome ceremony was presided over by Tian Hao, deputy party secretary of SXPI.

In his speech, Yu Yunfeng introduced China's vocational education development, China-Africa education cooperation and"Futureof Africa-China Africa Vocational Education Cooperation Program",which was co-led by CEAIE and ATUPA. He said that in August this year, China has launched initiatives to support Africa's industrialization and the China-Africa Talent Development Cooperation Plan in the China-Africa leaders' dialogue meeting. As a national organization engaged in international educational exchanges in China,CEAIE had played an important role in promoting the implementation of these initiatives.CEAIE would continue to work with African countries to upgrade China-Africa vocational and educational cooperation, taking into account their respective strengths and development needs.

Shen Xuefeng said that the "Belt and Road" initiative had pushed the development philosophy of "inviting in and going out". Significant progress had been made in deepening international exchanges and cooperation and improving the quality of running schools. The "Future of Africa - China TVETTour"had provided a good opportunity for the African Embassy to learn more about Shaanxi and its vocational education, and to promote vocational education exchanges and cooperation between Shaanxi and African countries. "We will actively build a bridge for vocational education exchange and cooperation between our two countries and work for win-win results."He said.

Hui Zhaoyang said that for a long time, Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute had been strengthening international exchanges and cooperation with a positive attitude and an open mind. In recent years, the school and Zambia, Nigeria, Malawi and other African countries had carried out a number of fruitful projects. This trip had provided a good opportunity for the two sides to enhance understanding, build friendship and promote cooperation. “We hope that through our joint efforts, this event will not only be a cultural trip,but also be a trip of cooperation and a trip of friendship.”He said.

In their speeches, the diplomats in China introduced the development of vocational education in their respective countries and their expectations for the event. They expressed the hope that through the event, they would have a full understanding of the development of Chinese vocational education, explore opportunities for exchanges and cooperation with friends from all walks of life, build friendship and promote common development.
