With Invitation of Vladivostok State University of Economic and Service (VSUES), Russia, strong partner of Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute, Ms. Yuan Fenghua, associate professor, Ms. Li Guanbo, Ms. Wang Mei, two fashion design students, participated in the “Pygmalion”International Young Designer Contest during the 13th Pacific Week in Russia from April 17 to 23, 2017. With the unique Chinese traditional painting culture combined into their fashion design, the teacher and students’ collections soon amazed the experts and public during the event in Vladivostok, far eastern city of Russia.
Finally, Ms Wang Mei and Li Guanbo were awarded two certificates for their beautiful collections. One certificate allows them to participate in the Design Summer School for free in Vladivostok State University of Economic and Service this summer. Another certificate allows their collection being recommended by Professor Kuzmichev to participate in a very prestigious fashion contest "Russian Silhouette" in Moscow this fall,which is the most prestigious fashion contest of young fashion designers in Russia and students' collections are allowed to participate in the event only through the recommendation of some Russian experts, and Prof. Kuzmichev, who was in a jury for Pygmalion, is one of those expert.
During the Pacific Week, Ms.Yuan Fenghua made a presentation about Chinese fashion design culture to the students and teachers in Vladivostok State University of Economic and Service. As a special invited Fashion Designer, Miss Yuan's collection also attracted many eyes for its amazing style. Ms. Yuan was also in the jury for the “Pygmalion” International Young Designer Contest.
“Pygmalion” International Young Designer Contest is a platform for promoting young talents, art creativity and fashion innovations of the vibrant Asian Pacific Region. The program of 2017 included the contest of more than 100 young designers from Russia, Japan, Republic of Korea and China.SXPI is the only invited vocational college in China participated in the event.It is the third year that SXPI dispatched its young fashion designers to the event.
