SXPI Welcomed Foreign Friends to Explore Cooperations

SXPI welcomed four college or university delegations from America, Canada and New Zealand from Oct. 18 to 20 and had its busy days for deploring cooperation with the other world last week.

In the afternoon, Oct. 18, Mr. Qin Jingjun, Deputy Director of International Office, Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute, met Ms. Dana Nichols, VP Academic Affairs, Chattanooga State Community College, USA, during the Sino-US VET Seminar in Beijing. Students exchange and visiting study program was very well discussed. The intention for cooperation was reached and further action will be taken soon.

In the night of Oct. 18, a working dinner was held between Mr.Qin Jingjun and Mr.Eddy Lau, Director of International Education Office, Red River College, Canada, in Beijing. Based on the former cooperation on student summer program, visiting scholar program and Sino-Canada VET consortium was discussed, bigger and stronger cooperation is expected between the two partners soon.

On Oct. 19, SXPI welcomed its old friend, Tony O'Brien, SINO-NZ Project Director, Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec), New Zealand and his colleague, Ms. Jessie Liu, Project Manager. SXPI vice president Mr. Mei Chuangshe, met Tony and expressed his wish for developing a more mature cooperation with Wintec. Tony reported the three months studying and living of 13 SXPI teachers in Wintec and gave high appraise to SXPI teachers. Mr. Qin discussed with Wintec guests for next year teachers training and other cooperation.

On Oct. 20, Dr. Ray Diez visited SXPI and looked for cooperation with SXPI in Construction Management. Dr. Ray Diez is the Chair of Construction Management and Engineering Technology in Western Illinois University, USA. SXPI vice president Mei Chuangshe held a meeting with Dr. Ray and hoped cooperation programs can be established. The dean and vice dean of Civil Engineering School negotiated with Dr. Ray on course cooperation and visiting scholar programs. Dr. Ray also toured SXPI campus and some of its training facilities. He was amazed by SXPI advanced training facilities and system.
