A Seminar on Vocational Education Development between China and Germany was held on December, 10, in Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute. Over 110 representatives from Shaanxi TVET colleges, educational government and BSK International participated in the seminar which was held one year late after Sino-Germany Higher Vocational Education Cooperation Consortium(Shaanxi-Berlin) was founded in 2016. The Consortium focuses on promoting students and teachers’ mobility between Shaanxi TVET colleges and universities in Germany, and enhancing Sino-Germany vocational cooperation. The seminar was organized by Shaanxi Society of Technical and Vocational Education and BSK International, Germany.Cooperation is the hottest words on the seminar, and cooperation programs in 2018 was announced by BSK International.

“Economic and information globalization points out that the international exchange and cooperation of the education development must be even fostered” said, Yuanning,Secretary-General of Shaanxi Provincial Government Academic Degree Committee. “Since its establishment, the Sino-Germany Higher Vocational Education Consortium(Shaanxi-Berlin) organized programs for teacher training, scholar visiting, students studying master degree program, etc,which has built a bridge between the higher vocation education of China and Germany.”

“The Sino-Germany Higher Vocational Education Consortium(Shaanxi-Berlin) provides an even greater platform for the internationalization of school operation which has a deep influence in the sharing of the exchange and cooperation experience of Sino-German higher vocational education ,explores the new way for the cultivation of practical talents ,implement completely the modern vocatinal education philosophy and establish the fine interactive system for going-out and introducing-in of higher vocational education” said Zhang Xiaoyun, President of Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute, which benefits a lot from the cooperation with Germany as nearly 300 teachers and students participated in various cooperation programs with German universities.

“The Consortium is providing a good platform for higher vocational colleges in Shaanxi to deepen international cooperation. It is also of great significance to share the experience of Sino-Germany cooperation and exchange, explore a new way of training applied talents, fully implement the concept of modern vocational education, and form a good interactive mechanism of "going out" and"introducing in" among higher vocational colleges in Shaanxi.” Said, Cui Yan, Chairman of Shaanxi Society of Technical and Vocational Education. Mr. Cui is also the Party Secretary of Shaanxi Polytechnic Institute.

On the seminar, Dr. Kai-Arne Fiedler, CEO of BSK International,made a keynote speech titled of Vocational Education, One Key Element in the Chain of Manufacturing Industry in Germany. Dr. Sven Ernst Konrad Schulte, Education Scientist in Technical University of Dortmund made of speech titled of How Does Germany Develop Its National Standards of Vocational Education and Training.
