SXPI Delegation Attended the U.S.-China Vocational Education Symposium

At the invitation of Community College of Denver, the United States, Mr. Zhang Xuxu, Head of Physical Education department, Mr. Hu Ping, Associate Professor of the School of Electrical Engineering, attended the "U.S.-China Vocational Education Symposium" in Colorado from October 15thto 20th, 2019. The conference was hosted by Community College of Denver, and supported by Hanban and Confucius Institute Headquarters. Focused on TVET professional curriculums development, educational management, and international exchange and cooperation between Chinese and American vocational colleges, the conference was a collaboration platform for colleges from two counties to discuss and communicate on college distinctive management, talent cultivation and internationalized joint programs.

At the symposium, the delegation introduced our college’s basic information, shared the achievements SXPI made recent years in promoting quality development and management level, and the striving for the goal of developing higher class college and programmes (Double High College). During the conference, the delegation also visited the secondary branch of the Community College of Denver to gain an in-depth understanding of the school-running philosophy and mechanism, professional curriculum, qualification certificates, industry-school integration, the convergence between associate and undergraduate study, the direction of its development. Meanwhile, after discussion between our delegation and leaders of the Community College of Denver, two colleges reached a consensus on cooperation and signed a memorandum of inter-school collaboration.

Denver Community College, located in Denver, Colorado, USA, was established in 1967. It has over 8,000 students and offers 55 two-year Associate Degree, 44 Certificate Programs, and a four-year Bachelor of Applied Science Degree. Denver Community University is one of the main sources of human resources in Denver, with a large number of technical talents graduated.
