SXPI Held Sino-Indonesian Young Leaders Silk Road Culture Camp

From December 14 to 19, Sino-Indonesian Young Leaders Silk Road Culture Camp was successfully held in SXPI. Fifteen outstanding students from Indonesian Vocational Schools and eight representative students from SXPI developed a six-day in-depth exchange around the Silk Road Culture.

On December 19, the closing ceremony of the study camp was held in Jingyi building. SXPI Deputy Party Secretary, Mr. Tian Hao, Board Director of Indonesia Kopertip, Dr. AB Susanto and Professor of Indonesia Malang State University, Mr. Mohamad Ami attended the ceremony. Dr. AB Susanto and Mr. Mohamad Ami fully acknowledged the positive role played by the culture camp in promoting youth exchanges between China and Indonesia, and encouraged young students from the two sides to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, so as to perpetuate friendship and create a better future through cultural collision and integration. Mr. Tian Hao presented the campers with study certificates and gifts to congratulate them on their fruitful results. SXPI international students and the campers sang the traditional Chinese folk song "Jasmine" together, expressing their love for Chinese culture and art.

During the study camp, students from the two sides listened to the cultural lectures such as "An Experience of Silk Road Culture in Shaanxi" and "Chinese Traditional Culture and Calligraphy Art", learned Chinese characters, calligraphy, folk songs, dance and martial arts, experienced Hanfu and Shaanxi cuisine, visited SXPI Library, the School History Hall and CNC training center, visited Terra Cotta Warriors, Muslim Street, Yuan Jia folk customs village, Xianyang Lake, etc., having a comprehensive understanding of Chinese profound cultural history, vocational education and campus life of SXPI. Apart from these, students from the two sides also exchanged ideas on such topics as vocational education and food culture through city exploration, fun activities and group discussions, thus further enhancing their friendship and mutual understanding.

At the closing ceremony, Indonesian Students Zaidan and Tsabitah said in their speech that this camp was the most unforgettable, precious and wonderful experience in their lives. They stated that before they came to China, they have never felt that China has such a great development achievements and deep cultural heritage. They look forward to coming to SXPI again with the identity of international students.

This culture camp is one of the main contents of the "Sino-Indonesian Vocational Education Innovative Talents Training Program”. In June this year, the program was selected into the China-ASEAN Higher Vocational Colleges Characteristic Cooperation Program supported by Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The program has realized the two-way flow of nearly 100 teachers and students from the two countries through the forms of students’ study camps, international students exchanges , teachers’ training camp, and online classes, which has enriched the humanistic exchange in vocational education of the two sides and expanded the international influence of TVET education in China.
